A program overview at NAIT
This site showcases the talents, expertise and accomplishments of the NAIT Graphic Communications students during their one year, full-time fast paced certificate program. The Graphic Communications program serves the capital region and northern communities of Alberta, but the acquired skills can be transferred anywhere in the world. Applicants come from various locations in Canada, as well as international destinations. In the Graphic Communications program you will learn design and layout skills, typography, photo manipulations, logo creations, illustrations and outputting electronic files to various communication mediums. These mediums range from business cards and stationery, magazines, books, newspapers, T-shirts, signage and billboards right through to modern electronic devices. The demand for GrafCom grads is expected to remain high regardless of the design output format, as all mediums will require the aforementioned skills. Graduates can find employment as production artists or pre-media technicians, working in full-time or part-time capacities and also have opportunities to perform freelance work.
The portfolios are broken into two categories; student project work and community projects for non-profit agencies. Peruse the site and if you require additional information please contact the individuals listed. Thanks for checking out the Graphic Communications program, we hope to support you in creating an exciting career in the future.
